Day 5 - Zakopane city center
It's still raining.
Yet, not as an eventful day as the previous ones and that's why Guillaume is making me write this entry. "It should be easy enough for your first blog contribution", he said. Yeah, as if it was easy to write about nothing. And just for the record, Guillaume did not said this I just made it up.
We had quite lazy morning, managed to download the latest episodes of Last Week Tonight with J. Oliver and of course Game of Thrones...did anyone mention dragons? So we set to watch both, but thankfully it stopped raining just as we finished Last Week Tonight. So off we went to discover the city of Zakopane.
I really loved our camping, because it was just next to the grocery store and a bus stop. Conveniently, the next bus was scheduled in 20 minutes, so really, a perfect timing! We take the bus, manage to buy the tickets from the bus driver with me making up my own Polish words as we went. Whatever works, right? And 10 minutes into the ride guess what, we're stuck in traffic, yay. So we get up at the next stop and walk to the broad walk.
We manage to score a really nice Karczma aka Polish Pub with traditional cuisine, yuum. The city centre was quite nice, but then again too many tourists (as everywhere else) so we didn't take many picture of over crowded streets and buildings. But overall, Zakopane is really pretty mountain town.
Road back to the camp grounds. Oh well, we couldn't find a bus stop so we decided to walk it, because step count. It took us about 40 minutes to walk back, which wasn't that bad. But as soon as we reached the campsite we were met by the mechanic who escorted us to the workshop to fix our drainage problem. Even though, we quite probably paid tourist price, it was a job well done and riddance of the problem.
And of course, we ended our day by watching the latest episode of Game of Thrones in our cozy bed. And what an episode was that!
Tomorrow, we gear up for the eye of the sea (Morskie Oko) the biggest lake (tarn?) in Poland.
Aliona.
