Day 14 - Flies, and goodbye Czechia

After a night spent wondering if we were going to get eating by the wolves first or by the tree snakes, we woke up with the intention of not spending another night there. We did decide to walk a bit before leaving to Austria, so we went to the nearest area of interest. It's called the King's Seat (Králův stolec) where the king of Poland Jan III Sobieski watched his army cross the river en route to free Vienna from the Turkish Siege.

The forest of the Podyji National Park is stupidly dense and kind of spooky, we walked a bit and were absolutely harassed by tiny flies going into our eyes and overall an unpleasant experience. I suppose we haven't grown into fearless hikers yet. The view was pretty nice though and would recommend it as long as you're not bothered but tiny flies.

We got home, and went on to drive to Austria, 3 long hours of desperately boring highways. There's an interesting thing on the border between Austria & Czechia, I'm not sure what the laws are in either country but it seems that Czechia is a lot more loose when it comes to night clubs/strip clubs/whorehouses/meat markets. The border between Czechia and Austria has tons of those, which left us feel disgusted how easy it is for a human exploit another.

We were headed to the glacier lake of Attersee near Salzburg, as soon as we got off the (painfully boring) highway we were greeted with paradisiac sights. The lake water is a clear blue, the hills on the side fall right into the glacier. It's gorgeous. We decided to stay in a normal camping today as we wanted to get some rest and some showers. We headed to Seefeld am Attersee and found a pretty great camping with access to the lake and all.

We parked and had a bit of an adventure to get the camper more or less leveled (it's still not) and spent a great chill night in the van. Today is R&R we will try to swim in the cold lake and enjoy a bit of relaxation.

Depending on the mood tomorrow we should be headed to the Königssee in the Berchtesgaden national park.
Signing off.
